Fabric suggestions
Stable fabrics will work beautifully such as quilting cotton, lawn, batiste, shirting, voile, linen and broderie Anglaise. However if you would like a more floaty vibe, lightweight woven fabrics with a bit of body are ideal, such as viscose rayon, floaty silks and wool crepe.
Fabric requirements
The amount of fabric you need depends on your measurements and is best calculated after drafting your pattern. If doing the math is boggling the brain a bit, we recommend drawing it out on paper using a scale of 1cm to represent 10cm in real life- so if your piece is 20cm wide, draw it at 2cm. Make sure to check the width of your fabric! If you really don’t want to do the math, 5 metres of fabric is a fairly safe bet, but we always recommend double-checking!
