Fabric suggestions

This pattern is designed for light to midweight fabrics such as linen, suiting, or denim. You may also use heavier weight fabrics such as canvas or wool, but if you do, we recommend omitting the fusible interfacing and using a lighter weight fabric for the lining pieces. Please note that we DO NOT recommend using fabrics with a tight weave, such as quilting cotton or cotton poplin. During testing we found that tightly woven fabrics did not offer the necessary give along the bias to fit the body well, especially at the armband. The pattern calls for lining fabric, which is used for lining the under bust on the front of the top, and optionally the upper bust on the front of the top. Using a separate lining fabric on the upper bust is only necessary if the rest of your garment is being sewn from a light weight fabric, or if your fabric is too sheer for your comfort when worn. If you're using a lightweight fabric for the garment, you can use the same fabric for both the lining and the garment.
