Fabric suggestions
SHELL: Lightweight fabric with little to no stretch, such as chiffon or charmeuse. The blue example cape is sewn with chiffon and the white example cape is sewn with lace.
LINING: Lightweight opaque fabric with little to no stretch, such as crepe or charmeuse. Both examples are sewn with a georgette. (You can omit the lining if your shell fabric is already opaque.)
Fabric requirements
SHELL: 6 Yards (5.5 m) of at least 60” (1.52 m) Wide Fabric
LINING: 1/8 Yard (12 cm) of at least 33” (.84 m) Wide Fabric
*If your shell fabric is sheer, you must get an opaque lining for the sleeve
cuffs. You can omit the lining if your shell fabric is already opaque.
