Fabric suggestions
The entire bag, straps and drawstrings included, can be made in the same woven fabric. The Gift Tote works in many different weights of fabric. Use a lightweight quilting cotton for slumpy bags, or a heavyweight canvas for a more structured bag.
Supplies
Optional: instructions are given in the pattern to make straps and drawstrings fabric, however the following substitutions can be made:
Straps - Use the same length of 1" cotton webbing for the straps.
Drawstrings - Use the same length of ribbon, twill tape, or cord for the drawstrings.
