Fabric suggestions
This dress style slips over your head and has a fitted style. Use light-medium weight stretch fabrics such as viscose/jersey knits or any fabric with at least 5% elastane/spandex content or 30% stretch width. If you want to sew The Shelf Bra, you will need between 1/2"-1.5" / 1.2cm-3.8cm wide elastic. This will depend on how much support you need, generally smaller bust sizes need smaller width elastic. Depending on how stretchy your fabric is, you may also need to interface the neckline and armhole edges using a roll of 3/8" / 1cm stretch interfacing.
Fabric requirements
For sizes 6-16 you will need 1.7 metres / 1.8 yards of fabric. For sizes 18-32 you will need 3.2 metres / 3.3 yards of fabric. There are more detailed fabric requirements in the instructions of this dress, depending on what size you sew and the fabric width.
