Fabric suggestions
Leather for the upper of the shoe (around 1.2mm thickness, but can vary either way).
Lining material — I use very thin leather, but you can also use a textile here.
Sole leather — you can either use one thicker leather layer (8-9 oz. leather) or double up a thinner leather.
Supplies
Waxed thread.
Cotton thread.
Optional: foam sheets with adhesive backer—kid’s craft foam sheets. Surprisingly, this is an EVA foam, which is also the same type of foam used in most athletic shoe soles. I recommend only using one layer, but it gives the shoes a little more structure.
