Depending on the weight of the fabric, it can be made for the warmer seasons (cottons, linens, and other similar lightweight fabrics) but can also be made from thicker fabrics such as tartans (my favorite!!) I wouldn’t recommend anything too heavy weight as it won’t twirl very well and it is trickier to gather
