Fabric suggestions Show/hide details
This pattern is designed to work with lightish to mid-weight woven fabrics. Plain weave linen, tumbled cotton, or a chambray would work great! It is not specifically designed to work with knit fabrics or stretchy wovens, but it would probably work, so have fun, mess around, and find out what happens! A more structured fabric, like a cotton twill or mid-weight canvas will show off the shape of the barrel legs whereas something lighter or with more drape will be more flowy. Please note: Due to the size of the pattern pieces, I do not recommend using 44” wide fabric for this pattern. The amounts listed here err on the side of “too much” rather than risking not having enough. If you are using pre-made bias tape for the bias binding or contrast fabric for the pockets, you will need slightly less than what is listed here.
