Lightweight woven fabrics between 2oz & 6 oz per sq yard / 60 & 175 gsm:
· Cotton block prints, batiste or voile
· Cotton eyelet
. Cotton-linen blend

· Linen, linen/viscose blend
· Rayon (crepe or challis) or silk for a flowy feel
· Denim or chambray

145 cm (57") wide fabric: 1.6–2 m (1.8–2.2 yd)

Supplies
Essentials:
• 7 buttons: 11 mm or 3/8" wide (5 for the placket and 2 for the cuffs)
• Buttonhole foot
• A thread cutter & seam ripper
• All-purpose thread (I like to use organic cotton or Gütermann recycled polyester). If you're using a serger, remember to buy 5 spools of the same colour.
• For woven fabrics: universal non-stretch needle, size 70–90 depending on your fabric
Extra (but very useful!):
• Overcasting foot if not using a serger
• 6 mm or 1/4" rolled hem presser foot
• Loop turner, at least 28 cm or 11" long
