Fabric suggestions
We recommend light- to light-medium-weight wovens: cottons like shirting, poplin, broadcloth, chambray, and lawn; rayon or tencel twill; and linen and linen blends.
You will be shirring the back panel, so avoid heavy or thick fabrics. Stretch
wovens are suitable, but knit fabrics are not recommended for this design.
Fabric requirements
23/8 yd (2.2 m) to 31/2 yd (3.2 m)
Supplies
Lightweight fusible interfacing (look for woven or tricot types)
• Elastic thread for shirring the back panel
• 7 in (17.8 cm) of ¼-in-wide (6 mm) elastic
• Two ¾-in (1.9 cm) flat buttons for the straps
• Five ¾-in (1.9 cm) buttons for the button closure
• Two large (size 10) sew-on snaps
