Fabric suggestions
For this blazer, use moderately heavyweight, soft, non-stretch or low-stretch woven fabrics made from natural, artificial, blended, or synthetic fibers.
The following fabrics are recommended for the main fabric:
- Linen, nettle fabric, denim, cotton, dupioni silk (raw silk)
For the fusible interfacing, a knit or woven fusible interfacing with a weight of 45–60 g/m² is recommended.
Important! Highly stretchy fabrics (such as knit jersey) and thin, sheer fabrics (such as chiffon, organza, or stretch lace) are not recommended.
The blazer shown in the sample photos is made from noil silk (silk bourrette). The fabric is moderately heavyweight, soft, and non-stretch. Fiber content: 100% silk. Fabric weight: 160 g/m².
A woven fusible interfacing weighing 48 g/m² was used for the sample garment.
