Fabric suggestions
A stretchy fabric can be used for the pattern:
- For the olive green version, I used a cotton knit with a brushed inside
(70% cotton 19% polyacrylic 4% elastane 3% viscose 2% polyester 2%
polyamide), approx. 270 g/m2
- However, lighter jersey fabrics or a thicker sweat fabric can also be used.
The heavier / thicker the fabric, the heavier the jumper will be and vice
versa.
- You can find an explanation of how to work with coarser knit fabrics
without an overlock sewing machine and dierential feed here.
As the top is cut very loose and is not tight-fitting, you can also use a
non-stretch fabric (e.g. satin, linen, cotton, etc.). Pay attention to this:
- The only part where the fabric should be stretchy is the neckline. If you
are using a non-stretch fabric, first sew the facing from your fabric to
test whether the neckline is large enough to pull over the head without
stretching. If it is not large enough, enlarge it accordingly.
