Fabric suggestions
We recommend light- to medium-weight wovens with some body and crispness: cotton sateen, broadcloth, poplin, oxford, lawn, eyelet, and shirtings. Alternatively, for a more glamorous finished garment, silk taffeta, dupioni, organza, or shantung may also be used.
For the apron support, we recommend: heavy nylon crinoline or scratchy net tulle. You want something lightweight and structural.
For the border of each petal, we recommend: beaded tulle, net, or lace yardage. Alternatively, lengths of ribbon may be used.
