Siena Dress, Top & Skirt sewing pattern

Siena works best in cottons, particularly cotton lawn. Cotton lawn is still stable enough to withstand the shirring but keeps your dress light and cool for the sunshine. Lisa’s turquoise floral Siena Dress is sewn in Liberty Tana lawn, whilst her white top and skirt are sewn in broderie anglaise. For a Siena Dress with more drape, try viscose or tencel. Because these fabrics are lighter in weight, you may wish to underline the outer bodice pieces with another layer of plain viscose, to give the bodice some more structure. You’ll still line the bodice following the instructions, meaning your bodice will be made up of three layers of fabric. Lisa’s pink Siena Dress is sewn in a lovely viscose with a pretty embroidered border hem.
