Fabric suggestions

When selecting fabric for The Sparkle Top, you have a wide range of options to suit your style. Medium-weight fabrics like cotton poplin, quilting cotton, and chambray are ideal, offering a great balance between structure and comfort. For a bolder, standout look, you can even use thicker fabrics like denim. If you prefer thinner fabrics, those will work beautifully as well, though we recommend interfacing the lining to add structure and increase opacity. However, we advise against using stretch fabrics, knits, or materials with a strong drape, as they will not hold the top’s shape as intended. For the dress view, we recommend avoiding heavier fabrics for the skirt, as they can make gathering difficult and create bulk. The pattern also requires a lining, and we suggest choosing a fabric that’s slightly lighter in weight than your outer fabric, especially if you’re using a heavier material. Lightweight cottons are a great choice for the lining!
