This pattern was designed especially for woven, light to medium weight fabrics like Cotton Lawn, Poplin, Linen or Ramie. It would work well in fabrics that are as light as a Cotton Voile or Double Gauze but would also look great as an outerwear set made in medium to heavy fabrics like Cotton Drill, Canvas and even a soft Denim.

Interfacing: It is recommended to put interfacing on the top collar for all weight fabrics. Interfacing the front facing panel is an option you might to consider if you are using a very light weight fabric. However you can also choose to just place a scrap of fusible behind your buttonholes to reinforce the fabric instead. Choose your interfacing according to the colour and weight of your fabric. The weight of the interfacing should be at the most equal to, or a bit lighter than, the fabric. Elastic: The shorts/trousers require 32mm (1 inch) wide elastic. Refer to the Fabric Consumption Chart to see how much you need for your size. Buttons: 5 buttons are needed for the shirt. Recommended button size is 24L (15mm or 5/8”) but a slightly bigger or smaller button would be fine.
