The same fabric can be used for the entire cardigan, or a contrasting fabric can be used for the bands. The main cardigan and bands require at least 60% stretch. Suggested fabrics include light to medium weight stretch fabrics such as rib knit, sweater knit and jersey fabrics.

Coordinating thread, stretch sewing machine needle. Cropped length - 4 x 7/16” (11.5 mm) buttons, 1/3 yd fusible interfacing. Hip length - 6 x 7/16” (11.5 mm) buttons, 1/2 yd fusible interfacing. Dress length - 12 x 7/16” (11.5 mm) buttons, 1 1/4yd fusible interfacing. Optional: 1/2 yd (3/8”) clear elastic and 5/8” fusible hem tape.
