Exciting new filters for shared projects
We've added some really useful new filters to shared projects that we're super excited about. For some, it might even change how you approach parts of your sewing planning!
If you've ever looked at some fabric in your stash and thought: what can I use this for? How do people even use oilskin, linen knits, silk organza or striped denim? It might be nice to see some examples and get some inspiration.
Let's say you have some cobalt blue silk in your stash that you're not sure what to do with. Use the new fabric filters to see what other people have used similar fabrics for! For example, you can choose Fabric composition -> Silk + Fabric color -> Cobalt blue to see all projects using fabric with those attributes. Neat!
There are fabric filters for structure, composition, color and print. You can combine them to find something specific, or just apply one filter to keep it broad.
The fabric structure filter is nested in groups: woven, knit and other. So you can choose to filter by all woven or knit fabrics, or make further choices to narrow it down to a specific type of structure/weave, like for example Knit -> Fleece. The composition filter includes a search so you can easily find the material you're looking to filter by. The color and print filters are the same as the composition filter, a searchable list of the available options.
Combine with another new filter: designers
Fabric filters are not the only new filters for shared projects! We've also added a brand new designer filter which lets you see all shared projects using patterns by a particular designer. Use this by itself, or combine with other filters.
For example, you might want to see all projects using a pattern by Daughter Judy in animal print denim fabric:
The options are endless! Taking advantage of all the filters available to you (everywhere on Threadloop) is quite underrated, so we encourage you to play around with all the available filters. We add new ones quite frequently, so there might be some you aren't even aware of. There are some tips in the guide for how to browse shared projects and using search and filters in the pattern database.
